FEATUREDINSIDE WEAVERWEAVER ON THE GO

Camera, Horses, Action! – A Look Back at a Picture Perfect Photoshoot

Have you seen our beautiful pictures? If you follow us on social media or have ever been to our website, you may wonder how or where we capture that beautiful imagery. Well I’m going to tell you! Picture a breathtaking landscape, you’re on top of a mountain and there are rolling hills, deep valleys and huge boulders as far as the eye can see! In this untamed wilderness lays the Powderhorn Ranch in Douglas, Wyoming.

Every 2 years, the Weaver Leather team packs up their gear and travels to this remote ranch to meet up with many of our brand ambassadors and endorsee, Ken McNabb to take pictures of our newest products with the best team any company could ask for.

If you have ever tried to take a picture of your horse, you may know the painstaking process of getting the perfect picture. Your camera roll is filled with dozens of not so great photos of your horse making weird or funny expressions and sticking out their tongue, until finally you get that one good one! Well, I’ll have you know, over the course of 5 days, we took over 15,000 photos!!! That’s a ton! And just like you, we have to get the horses looking perfect! We spend hours dancing around, doing jumping jacks and shaking noisy objects to get the horses to perk their ears up.

As you can imagine, the best spots are the ones you have to trek too! From scaling down steep hills and cliff faces to crossing deep streams, you never know what we were going to get into!

We’re so fortunate to work with amazing professional horsemen and women like our endorsee Ken McNabb and team weaver members Chad and Christiana Wenger, Lisa Gentile, Justin Hatfield, BJ Grimmett and the entire Diamond-McNabb Ranch family, without you, none of this would have been possible. Until next time, go make memories and ride!
